Exploring Creative encourages young people to work collaboratively, think creatively and to channel their creative thoughts. The workshop is compiled of three activities: a word association discussion, a turn-based doodle activity and the creation of a collaborative artwork.
This workshop encourages students to work with a range of resources and inspirations (created by UWE students on creative courses). By the end of the session, school students have used stimuli to help develop, design and inspire their own collaborative creations.

If you are interested in submitting a piece of work to be used in this project you must be a university student at UWE or UoB, or a recent graduate (within the last 3 years).
Unfortunately, the structure of the workshop does not support audio or film-based work. The submissions need to be a visual, static physical copy that the students can view on their tables. That isn't to say that music and film students can't be involved; but we are looking for scripts, lyrics, poems or photography stills etc.
The piece that you create must fit into our chosen theme for the workshop, 'explore, plan, become'. This could be about exploring the kind of future career you're pursuing, planning the steps to get there, and ultimately becoming your future.
Once you have your piece ready for submission, please email it to Future.Quest@uwe.ac.uk. Be sure to make it clear that you are submitting work for the Exploring Creative workshop. In your email, please tell us about the piece of work you are submitting, it’s title and medium used, include your social media handles or website if you have them, and what course you are on.
If you’re a school student in year 7, 8 or 9 and are interested in taking part in this workshop, you can share this page with your art teacher!
Or alternatively, take a look at our online gallery and have a go at creating something yourself inspired by one of our university student’s pieces! Once you’re happy with what you have created, take a pic, send it to Future.Quest@uwe.ac.uk with the title of your piece, your name and year group and we can upload it to or gallery!
