Mentoring and study skills Programme

Academic support mentoring

As part of the Future Quest programme, West of England Mentoring are offering a free mentoring programme to the cohort schools which will support students to formulate a post-16 plan and prepare them for a successful transition from Key Stage 4 to further education.

The opportunity is primarily for year 8-10 students, however the programme can also be offered to year 11 students. The format would run as a 6 session programme delivered to a group of up to 20 students over approximately 12 weeks, covering two elements: Business mentoring and Peer mentoring.

Alternatively, Future Quest can provide funding to schools on the cohort programme to develop your own plan. We will be in contact with the cohort schools with further information soon.

Study Skills

Future Quest is keen to offer a one day Study Skills Summer School for pre-16 students that will support the transition from pre-16 to post-16 study. UWE Bristol is currently in the process of setting up a planning group to initiate the development of the summer school and would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in getting involved. The summer school will run in 2018 and take place at UWE Bristol, Frenchay campus. To express an interest, please contact Sarah Gettings Sarah.Gettings@uwe.ac.uk
